Ecliptic RocketCam™ Performs Flawlessly During NRO Launch

2001 Sep 08

The classified MLV-12 satellite for the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) was launched today by a Lockheed Martin Astronautics Atlas IIAS rocket lifting off from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. Launch services were provided by International Launch Services (ILS). A RocketCam™ system was aboard, but the returned video is being held from public release until first examined by the NRO. This launch marks the 17th consecutive RocketCam™ success since 1997, on several launch systems.
