Opportunity Lands on Mars!

2004 Jan 24

Only three weeks after its twin Spirit landed on Mars, the rover Opportunity made it 2 for 2 tonight, completing its six-month trip to the Red Planet with a suspenseful and flawless entry, descent and landing, coming to rest right on target half way around the planet from its twin.

Follow the action from both missions at Spaceflight Now and related media references at our In the Media page.

Ecliptic supplied the onboard RocketCamâ„¢ video system that captured the launch action last July and also the electrical test equipment for the rover's robotic arm.
