Record Number of RocketCamâ„¢ Views on Delta IV Heavy Launch

2004 Dec 06

*** Note: This launch has been slipped to Dec 11 due to predictions of poor weather at the launch site for Dec 10.***

The first launch of Boeing's Delta IV Heavy rocket is scheduled for December 10 from Florida, with a planned launch window between 2:31 and 5:27 p.m. EST. The Delta IV Heavy consists of three Common Booster Cores, making this rocket approximately three times larger than the previous three Delta IV launches.

A record five Ecliptic RocketCamâ„¢cameras are placed onboard to capture views of key vehicle events during the launch and ascent to orbit. All three previous Delta IV launches also had RocketCam systems installed, and all worked as planned.

Follow the action during a live webcast at Boeing's Delta IV Heavy website.

Spaceflight Now will also follow the minute-by-minute action at its Mission Status Center for this launch, and Boeing has a toll-free launch hotline at (714) 896-4770, which would be prudent to check during the week since first-of-a-kind launches often slip.
