Small Payload Systems

RocketPod™

For years, Ecliptic's RocketCam™ imaging systems have been launched on a variety of U.S. launch vehicles, often with external cameras mounted inside protective fairings to minimize aerodynamic drag and to protect the cameras from aerothermal heating. RocketPod™ capitalizes on this RocketCam™ camera pod heritage.

With RocketPod™, instead of a camera inside the fairing, it's a carrier / launcher system configured to accommodate a single standard CubeSat-class "nano" payload. This payload can be a "nanosatellite" to be ejected by the RocketPod™ once the host rocket stage has reached orbit, or can be a payload that stays with the RocketPod™ and operates after reaching space (e.g., an imaging sensor). Attached but deployable payloads (e.g., tether or inflatable experiments) are also enabled by RocketPod™.
